Indigo Pine: Solar Decathlon

Deeply rooted in Clemson University work ethic, Clemson decided a few years ago to participate in the final Solar Decathlon competition run by the Department of Energy.  Understanding that this journey would be difficult and amass multiple departments and numerous students and faculty, we decided to proceed and build a home that represents Clemson.

Joining the team at the initial concept phases over a year ago, I worked on brainstorming ideas and avenues to travel down in terms of design, program, and clientele.  I then joined back this past semester with the team and worked with group of wonderful students from many departments such as architecture, engineering, and packaging science.  During the studio class I was tasked to work with three other students to help develop and finalize the structure of our home.  In the process I was able to communicate and discuss innovative ideas and solidify a process that is revolutionary to the residential building environment.

Since this was a team effort and I was involved in so many aspects, this page contains a video of our process, a collection of our photos, and some renders done by the team (I am in the first and third photo on the end computer).

*This is an ongoing competition, I cannot share the details of my individual work as it contains details to our construction, I will release those drawings and information when I can.
