Sterling Community Center

A once proud and thriving community, Sterling community has fallen to minimal influence.  The community has become rundown since the lynchpin of the town burned down in 1967; the high school.  We were given a parcel in Sterling to create a new community, culture and, business incubation center.

Program Optimization

For the first stage I worked through 3 different layouts for the program of the site.  By doing this I was working through how best to have every part of the program become effective in impacting this community.

Facade Study

With the program layout decided I began developing a design and aesthetic language for the site.  By blending past influences and looking to the future I worked through the best look to ignite growth for this area.

Final Development

It all compiled into a final board showcasing my approach to igniting the growth of this area.  A few of the program elements were dropped in the final with focused design on the Business Center, the Farmers Market, and the Community Center.
